Res Creativa is a new initiative for creators, and this idea is the one that makes all the others possible.
Not the blueprint. Not the constitution. Not the leadership program or the organizational work, as essential as those are.
This one. Community. The people in the room.
Thirty-eight founding members have said yes before they knew exactly what they were saying yes to. And what almost every one of them named, somewhere in their response, was a version of the same thing: I don’t want to do this alone.
That is not a small admission for people who have built their lives around independent creative practice. It is, in fact, a radical one.
Res Creativa will be built from that admission.

A Community with Structure
A Network Built for Collective Action
Community here will not be incidental. It will be designed.
Discipline-based working groups. Regional circles. Regular in-person gatherings that create continuity and shared purpose across time, not just across a single event.
The intent is to gain a body of practitioners who know each other, trust each other, and build together, not just in parallel.
This is how durable civic cultures are made. Not through declarations alone, but through repeated contact. Through the slow accumulation of shared work and shared meals and shared frustration and shared discovery.
Structure is what keeps community from dissolving into drift. It is what allows something to endure. It is deliberative democracy.
What this would mean for you as a creator:
Become part of a lasting network of peers, one that extends beyond a single moment of enthusiasm into ongoing exchange, real support, and collective momentum that compounds over time.
What this would mean for our humanity:
Seed a distributed creative presence across cities and regions, where connected communities of practitioners strengthen resilience, identity, and the shared capacity to imagine something better.
There is one more thing worth saying directly.
Autocrats do not want us to come together in joy. They do not know what to do with that. They can suppress a protest. They can defund an agency. They can dismantle a program. What they cannot easily suppress is a community of people who make things together and refuse to stop.
That is not incidental to Res Creativa. That is Res Creativa.
People who make things, working in concert to define and construct a culture worth living in.
