Not a union. Not an arts advocacy organization. Not a public relations campaign. Not a government agency. We already have those.
Individual artists deserve a republic of our own.
Creative practitioners are needed for the Reconstruction ahead. We can restore imagination, civic intelligence, empathy, and cultural courage to public life.
Artists Across Disciplines Should Help Shape Public Life, Not Wait on the Sidelines for Something to Respond to
Artists connect humanity. We foster empathy. We help people imagine what is possible long before institutions can catch up.
Our world needs that capacity again, don’t you think?
I believe creatives, makers, and culture bearers should help shape and lead. We are able to create more than decoration and entertainment.
