About Res Creativa

We are artists, creative practitioners, and allies who believe imagination and creative practice have a place in public life.

Res Creativa began in the United States in April 2026 as a grassroots effort to connect people who want to do something with that belief. Interest is growing beyond the U.S. as we meet others asking how their creative abilities can serve the places and people they care about.

What we’re building

We want artists and allies to have a stronger hand in how communities learn, connect, make decisions, and imagine their futures.

That work can take many forms. A theatre maker might help neighbors rehearse a difficult conversation. A designer might make a public decision easier to understand. A musician might bring people into a shared experience. A writer, architect, filmmaker, photographer, dancer, or craftsperson may see an opening no one else has noticed.

We are bringing these people together across disciplines to discover where creative practice can be useful, especially before a crisis leaves little room to imagine.

Who belongs here

You do not need to earn your living as an artist. We welcome creative practitioners, arts enthusiasts, educators, researchers, community organizers, public servants, and anyone who believes creativity can help us live together more fully.

Our founding members are refining an Opportunity Docket to identify promising places to put this work into practice. New members can join us now as Charter Supporters at no charge. When the Docket is ready, they’ll be invited to review it and, if they support it, add their names to the document.

We intend to establish Res Creativa as an independent nonprofit with a governing board in 2027. For now, we’re building the community and the ideas that will guide it.
